01 Corrective vs personal training
What is the difference between corrective exercise and personal training?
Both start with a free assessment at Logic Fitness. Personal training builds a plan for strength, composition, or performance. Corrective exercise puts movement quality, mobility, and control first when a limitation is in the way. It is still coaching, not a medical diagnosis, and it does not replace a clinician’s care.
This page is for working adults who have been told to “fix posture” or “just train harder” and want a clear difference before they book. Both formats are delivered through the same coaching team at two North York studios.

Personal training is the default when you want a coached plan, a realistic frequency, and progress you can see — strength, movement, or lasting capacity. The coach still screens how you move; they do not skip assessment to jump into a template.
When does corrective exercise come first?
Corrective exercise is the better first emphasis when mobility, control, or an old limitation would make heavier work guesswork. The process is: discuss symptoms and any existing care plan, assess the relevant patterns, train ranges you can control, then reassess before adding demand.
- Movement screening and posture-informed exercise selection.
- Mobility and control before intensity.
- Progressive strength around a limitation — not stretch-only homework.
Is corrective exercise physiotherapy?
No. It is personal fitness training informed by mobility, posture, and rehabilitation principles. It does not diagnose injury or disease, and it does not replace emergency care or a prescribed treatment plan. Bring that context to the assessment so training can sit beside it.
Do I choose the label before I visit?
You do not have to. The free assessment is where the team recommends the emphasis. Many members move from more corrective work into broader personal training as control improves. Pricing stays at the published private-coaching starting points and is confirmed after the visit.
Can I do both in the same plan?
Often yes. The distinction is emphasis, not two unrelated memberships. The assessment decides what the next month should prioritize.
I have pain. Should I book corrective exercise?
Tell the team about relevant symptoms and any existing care plan. Training can be adapted; it still does not replace medical advice. The first visit stays comfortable.
Which coaches do this work?
Corrective-exercise coaching is listed on the service page with the coaches who hold that emphasis. The assessment matches you; you do not have to pick from a list first.
Let the assessment choose the emphasis.
Book a free movement assessment. Describe the limitation and the week you train around. The team will recommend personal training, a more corrective start, or another Logic service.
